The Cyber Safety Project team will beam into your Year 6 classrooms three times in November to cover important topics for transitioning students.

    Tuesday 12 November 2024 | 9.30am, 2.30pm AEDT or on-demand

    Tuesday 19 November 2024 | 9.30am, 2.30pm AEDT or on-demand
  • Session 3: Balancing Life & Tech

  • Parent Information Session: Navigating the Digital Transition to Secondary School
    Monday 11 November 2024, live online 7.30pm AEDT 


Join at a time that suits you! 

Each student session runs for 45 minutes, and you have the flexibility to attend live at 9.30am or 2.30pm AEDT or view on-demand for 7 days. 

Session 1: Set for Safety
Get yourself set up safely for the socials

In this session, students will learn the essential steps to secure their digital presence. By understanding how to plan, protect, and prevent online risks, they will be better equipped to handle the challenges of social media and gaming environments. 

Topics: 

  • Digital dangers: Identify common scams and hacker tactics. 
  • Keep it secure: Understand how practice good security hygiene. 
  • Get help: Know the steps to take if faced with online abuse. 
Session 2: My Digital Identity

Students will explore the impact of their online actions on their reputation and learn the importance of maintaining integrity. This session also delves into the significance of following digital laws and the ethical considerations of using AI. 

Topics: 

  • My online reputation: Why establishing your reputation matters. 
  • Nudes and the law: Get to know the laws that govern online behaviour. 
  • Me and AI: Understand how AI tools work and ethical considerations.  
Session 3: Balancing Life & Tech
Creating a healthy digital lifestyle

Balancing the digital world with real life is crucial for well-being. This session addresses how to handle managing digital communication, navigate peer pressure, and tackling online abuse or cyberbullying.  

Topics: 

  • Digital influence: How technology impacts thoughts and feelings. 
  • Navigating peer pressure: Tips for resisting peer pressure. 
  • Why am I Hooked?: Understanding and managing tech addiction. 
Parent Information Session

Parents are invited to join our Navigating the Digital Transition to Secondary School information session to understand the key challenges and trends their child will face online. Parents will gain practical tips, explore essential themes for safe online behaviour, and learn conversation starters to help support their child’s responsible digital journey as they enter secondary school.  

How much does the program cost? 

$15 + GST per student
