The Cyber Savvy Educator

Educators will explore current digital trends among young people and reflect on their evolving role in the 21st century. The Cyber Safety Project team will share effective strategies for teaching essential cyber safety concepts and offer valuable resources. Topics will include social networking, digital habits, integrating cyber safety into the classroom, and fostering positive digital reputations.

Topic 2

Digital Wellbeing

Educators will learn how to integrate digital safety and wellbeing concepts into daily classroom practice, and the fundamental social and emotional skills that can support students to self-manage their own digital safety and wellbeing. Educators will engage in an open forum style discussion to drive conversations about key challenges they face.

Topic 3

Digital Respect & Consent

Educators will learn the importance of integrating digital respect and consent education in schools, focusing on digital citizenship and personal responsibilities. They will explore image-based abuse, online harassment, and how to support young people in understanding their societal roles online and offline. 

Topic 4

Essential Cyber Security

The greatest threat to a school’s cyber security is human error. This session highlights the crucial need for cyber security education for school staff and provides essential training to help them recognise and prevent cyber risks and threats.
