Primary Sessions

Our comprehensive two-year primary program for Foundation to Year 6 students covers cyber safety in the first year and focuses on digital wellbeing in the second.

Cyber Safety

Foundation to Year 2

Safety Seekers learn to navigate online safety by exploring why it isn’t always safe online, practicing the skill of thinking about their feelings, identifying strange, tricky, and unkind individuals, recognising early warning signs, and knowing when to S.T.O.P. and seek help.

Cyber Safety

Year 3 and 4

Privacy Protectors explore the online spaces they go to connect, learn, and play, and learn why it’s unsafe to share personal information. Students discover how to identify online scam signs, create secure passwords and how to distinguish between personal and public spaces.

Cyber Safety

Year 5 and 6

Digital Defenders will gain skills to manage their digital lives by defining cyberbullying and learning how to protect their privacy and avoid oversharing. Students will explore online citizenship laws and learn where to seek help.

Digital Wellbeing

Foundation to Year 2

Emotion Explorers will establish strategies to create a healthy digital balance by exploring healthy lifestyles and learning the importance of switching off. Students will learn to recognise their emotions as they S.T.A.R.T. to take control.

Digital Wellbeing

Year 3 and 4

Digital Detectives will discover how to self-manage their screen time and understand their tech habits. We’ll help them to recognise attention-capturing techniques and how to effectively control their online settings.  Students will distinguish banter from bullying and learn where to seek help when things go wrong online.

Digital Wellbeing

Year 5 and 6

Wellbeing Wonders will learn to navigate online social pressures by using profile settings to stay safe, showing integrity in digital dilemmas, managing peer pressure, and using empathy to support others. They will also develop proactive strategies for seeking help when needed.

Secondary Sessions

We tailor our approach for students in Years 7 to 12 by first getting to know their habits through a Digital Habits Survey conducted with students prior to the session. This valuable insight enables the Cyber Safety Project team to understand the specific challenges the community faces and tailor our session to address the unique needs of the school.

Students will prioritise online safety by learning about personal information protection, recognising cybercriminal tactics, understanding risks in online friendships and sharing intimate content, and knowing how to take control and report incidents of abuse and cyberbullying. 

My Place In A Digital World

Year 8

My Place in a Digital World

Students will focus on understanding how personal data can be exposed, learning steps to protect their privacy, including avoiding oversharing online. Students will further explore third-party use of personal data, risks of location sharing, sextortion, Image Based Abuse (IBA) and relevant Digital Citizenship laws. 

Level Up Your Digital Reputation

Year 9

Level Up Your Digital Reputation

Students will focus on understanding how their current online behaviour can shape their future digital reputation, exploring strategies for maintaining respectful digital relationships. Students will learn to recognise the impact of social media and gaming on their wellbeing and understand their responsibilities as online citizens including knowing relevant Australian laws concerning cyber-bullying and image-based abuse. 

Future Proof Yourself

Year 10 - 12

Future Proof Yourself

Students will explore the dual roles of technology in their lives, understanding how their choices shape their online identity.  Students will explore their responsibilities as online citizens including the impact of their digital footprint, and learn about Australian laws regarding cyber-bullying, consent and image-based abuse.

A Unique and Tailored Approach

A one size fits all approach just doesn’t cut it. Before visiting your school, we conduct an in-depth analysis of how the young people in your community access and use technology via our Digital Habits Survey. The intel gathered informs our sessions and allows us to engage in discussions aligned to your students’ needs. This tailored service is unique to the Cyber Safety Project and is complimentary with a session booking.

FAQs

Student sessions are available face-to-face or live online.

The program is delivered by qualified and experienced educators.

Each session runs between 50 to 60 minutes.

The program is designed for students from Foundation to Year 12.

Each session can accommodate up to 140 primary students or 300 secondary students.

The sessions are interactive group sessions that involve some student participation. It is recommended to have students seated in one large area. Students are not required to bring anything to a session.

The cost starts from $10 + GST per student
